Today, I write with both sadness and thanksgiving as I announce that Nancy Holtschlag will be leaving her position as Parish Administrator at St. John the Evangelist at the end of August.
Nancy dove in headfirst to support this role at a time of profound transition for our Parish. She took over administrative duties to support my predecessor as he was leaving but then stayed on during the interim period to ensure that operations continued to run smoothly. In fact, Nancy not only maintained operations, but has significantly re-organized and improved our systems and communications through the Parish Office. Nancy has been particularly instrumental in establishing Breeze, working with our Finance and Stewardship Committees, and ensuring that our other major new hires this year have been onboarded happily, including me!
Over the last week, Nancy has informed me of her departure, and about the exciting new employment opportunities she is now pursuing. Nancy and her family will continue to play a huge part in the life of St. John the Evangelist, and this will bring immense joy to our team and our community.
Over the next few weeks, please join me in giving thanks for Nancy’s service and ministry. The Vestry and I are immediately and actively looking for a new Administrator to join us as soon as possible in September. The job description will be posted shortly. Please be in touch with me if you are interested in providing short-term support, or if you know someone who might be interested in applying for the position itself.
In the meantime, let us give thanks for Nancy’s gifts among our community, and we will look forward to continuing to see her and her family among the pews!
With every prayer and blessing,
Ed.
